• Predictive enrichment Selecting patients before randomization based on the inflammatory module their tissue is running, so a trial tests the drug on the biology it targets.
• Retrospective analysis Reanalysing archived baseline biopsies from trials that missed their primary endpoint, to recover the responder subgroup and define an enriched population.

Approach

A baseline mucosal biopsy is profiled transcriptomically and assigned to its dominant inflammatory module — TNF, IL‑23, JAK, or TL1A. Each module maps to the drug mechanism most likely to induce remission. The classifier is trained on mucosal biopsy transcriptomics and runs before treatment begins.
